I’m a lover of all seasons, but in the last three years, Spring has become my favorite. It’s a time of visible renewal as life springs forth from the hard, dry ground. In the weeks following my son’s death, my husband and I worked in our backyard. It was a way for us to physically deal with our grief and create something beautiful from our pain. Friends brought us flowers that we planted there and each year I get to witness beauty resurface from that place of brokenness.
